i need help

Hi adobe evangelists,

 

I encountered a glitch, bug, or i dont what it is, but for some reason my layout become so small that you cant be able to zoom in.. I was just updating some i nformation on the file then all of a sudden i noticed my 1st, 4th and 5th pages became so small.. the black background is unselectable and I didnt do the black guide or i dont what that is... I dont know what happened here.. please help.. thanks

The first thing to try is to reboot your computer.

 

If that only happens in one file, there may be corruption in the document. You might be able to save it as an IDML file (File > Save As > InDesign CS4 or Later (IDML). Try opening the IMDL file in InDesign and see if that fixes the problem.

 

If it is happening in all your files, try restoring your InDesign preferences and caches. Here's how:

Thank you Steve for replying back.. So i was able to open the file.. but now heres how it looks like though... im not sure why its doing this... thank you so much for replying...

Do you mean the different sizes of the pasteboards?

I assume you saved or exported the damaged document to IDML and saved it again as InDesign document.

 

The different sizes of the pasteboards could be caused by elements positioned far from the pages at the outer edges of the pasteboard..You could check that by doing Select All when on a spread. Be aware that at the edges of the pasteboard graphic frames or other items could be positioned so that only the upper or lower edges are visible.
