I've been upgraded to 2024 for several weeks, but documents keep opening in 2023, even when I've had them open in 2024. I uninstalled and reinstalled 2024, but that didn't solve it, and it's making me mental.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Susan
Yes:
(On anote: if you are in Windows, make sure you run the latest version (19.1) because 19.0 had a APP ID error that was the same as 2023 (18).)
I would opt for option 2 by the way, always safest and the most obvious 😉

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

As a general rule the version installed last should get the file type associated with it. So the sequence of installation matters. In this case I suppose having the same ID in the registry for both 2024 and 2023 might be the culprit, this issue has been resolved though in the latest version of 2024.
