I upgraded to CC 2019 and it offered to convert all my files (made with ID CC 2018) so I I agreed and it converted them. Turns out the plug-in of Math Magic I use for equations is not a valid plug-in for 2019, but works only for 2018 or before. As CC 2019 was just released, math magic doesn't have a 2019 version yet. I went back to using ID CC 2018 but when it prompts me to revert the files to CC2018, as it is unable to open CC2019 files, it says:
Unable to convert "Filename".
The IDML file conversion is temporarily unavailable. Try again later.
Please help. Don't have much time.
Bob, OP obviously meant that all files that were opened got converted. I'd have to check, but it sounds like the old behavior of opening [Converted] files as "Untitled-x" was changed -- something a lot of users complained about.
Opening a '19 file in '18 triggers an attempted upload to Adobe's online conversion service, and that seems to be down, then. But it should still be possible to downsave using 2019.

Export as IDML from CC 2019 and open that in CC 2018.

I have never seen any version of InDesign offer to convert all old INDD files to a new version.

Thank you for your answer. The service randomly worked - probably the servers were down.
And yes, the thing is, I updated from indesign CC 2018 to 2019 using the creative cloud, then opened the files I was working on with InDesign 2019 and it triggered a message that offered me to convert the files to 2019, which I agreed to, without thinking about the fact that the Math Magic plug-in was developed for Id CC 2018, not 2019. That's it.
About the export to IDML solution... is that really a solution? wouldn't exporting to IDML take a lot of features out of my file?
Thank you guys

The IDML path is the way the server use too. It is also the recommended method to repair corrupt files.
