Image importing script modification

Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to modify Kasyan's image importing script http://kasyan.ho.ua/indesign/image/place_inline_images.html to not require the file extension (i.e. to just import the first file it finds with that name) and also to not delete the original text when it imports the image?

I'm trying to produce a catalogue that I do several times a year and it requires manually importing hundreds of images to place with accompanying text. Getting the text into InDesign in the correct layout isn't too much trouble, but I've never found a way to automatically do it for the images. Kasyan's script almost does what I need, but it replaces the original text with an image and also requires the file extension to be in the item name, which it isn't. I've tried but I don't really know what I'm doing with scripts and can't get it to work. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It’s definitely possible. In fact, you can contact Kasyan and hire him to modify it for your need. It will not cost you much and in reality it will make you save times and money especially since you will use it several times.
