Question

Import RGB swatches

Hi,

I have made an IND document in Document RGB. I don't want to start a Web document (New document - Intent - Web) cause I need higher resolution, but I need the document to be in RGB mode cause I'm showing RGB colors only. My RGB is set to sRGB and that is correct for my intent. When I try to import a pre-made RGB swatch (Load swatches) my RGB ACO is not available, it only allows the CMYK ASE to be imported. I made two. When I made the RGB swatch ACO was my only option so I had to save it as an ACO file. Why is the RGB swatch out of sight? Why can't I import the RGB swatches in the RGB document?

From the swatches panel, select load swatches and navigate to the document that contains the swatches.

The intent has no effect on resolution of anything, it just gives you different defaults to begin.

BobLevine, as mentioned in my post I was not able to load my RGB ACO file by loading a new swatch from the swatches panel. The intent generates a lowres document based on pixels, I could increase the pixel res. of course but I would much rather work independent of resolution as normal within IND in an RGB space. I could make the RGB swatches as library elements within PS and then open the library in IND, but I would rather have my RGB swatches in the IND color swatch panel. But am I'm working in RGB?!

I know youre saying that intent doesn't affect the color result but I beg to differ. I see what I see

Maybe you could post an example of a Print intent doc with RGB colors that don't display correctly?

There's nothing wrong with staying with an RGB Intent. I agree with Bob, InDesign pages are vector objects and have no resolution property—the Intent doesn't change that fact.

Screenshot from within IND. Topmost is the CMYK version and the other one is when my document is with the intent named web. If your not able to see the difference your monitor should be calibrated   I'm on an Eizo ColorEdge myself.
