I imported a word doc into InDesign.

Unfortunately it didn't paste the endnote numbers. So i inserted each referene number. Now i am pasting each endnote reference in.

Is there a shorter way to do this?

Hi @Summayah5FC7,

Thanks for reaching out. I found this article on "retaining important formatting when importing Word documents" in InDesign, which you can refer to here https://creativepro.com/retaining-important-formatting-when-importing-word-documents/#:~:text=Instea...

I am leaving this discussion open for expert suggestions.

End notes are a perpetual headache, especially when (1) importing from Word or (2) exporting to EPUB. The article referenced might have good guidelines for keeping the formatting clean enough to allow a successful import, but it's not uncommon to have to completely redo end notes within ID, using its feature and not relying on imported links.
