Question

Importing images from Mac photo library.

Hi all.
Curious as to why I can't import pictures from my Mac photo library, whereas if I import from downloads or recents it opens pictures.
If I scroll down to he media "photos" section it doesn't show any pictures.
Am I meant to save to downloads or am I having a beginners "head gone" moment.
Thanks all

File-Place-photos

Look for the "show slide bar" if you can not find photos

You're responding to a three-year-old thread Ethan.

What is the format of the photos? InDesign won’t place the HEIC format images from newer iPhones. I posted an Applescript in this thread, which will convert and place HEIC files in InDesign.

Where did the images come from and what format are they in? Is it possible they are in a format InDesign does not import directly? For example, iPhone/iPad photos may be in HEIF format.

File > Place and navigate to Photos.

I would suggest though you copy your photographs to an Assets folder which is in a folder that has your INDD file etc. You then keep all your items together rather than have them scattered throughout your system and maybe difficult to relink and so on.
