I'm having a problem that involves the four programs in the subject line. I have been successfully using words flow to bridge the gap between Microsoft Word and in design. This creates a linked relationship between all three programs.
Because of recent changes to the Adobe subscription system, I recently became able to use In Copy with my In Design file and I gave it a try, now the ID file is linked to IC and working with Words Flow has been delinked and I can't find a way to restore the words flow link.
Is there a way to unlink In Copy so I can relink WF?
Does In Copy work with Word?
thanks,

Hi Bob,
InCopy does not work with Word. You can flow Word content into InCopy or InDesign but once you do, there is no relationship to the original Word document. Technically you could do it but it's not relevant in this discussion.
Probably when you implement InCopy, it automatically unlinks the WordsFlow connection to avoid confusion plus WordsFlow is not compatible with InCopy to my knowledge because they are performing similar tasks.
If you look in your links panel, you should see .icml files. These are the InCopy files that you have linked. You can click in the Links panel menu and choose Unlink to break the connection to the InCopy file and then you can re-place the Word document using WordsFlow.
I hope that helps!

Jonathan,
Thanks, you and Chad are spot on. I looked further and Words Flow was ready for me. They have an "Export with Words Flow". This allowed me to save all of the work I had put in after losing the WF link.
Each of the programs have something to contribute to my project and I'm glad to have found a way to take advantage of them.
Thank you both for helping.
