Indesgin Plugin Development

Hi Guys,

I'm New to here. And need a proper simple guide to generate indesign plugin to connect with FielMaker Pro and view all table Structure and Data as Indesign Panel to drag and Drop component to Indesign WorkSheet.

Please help me to get this done.

Hi @JayanR,

That is a full blown project description that you have given. No one is going to help you with specifics of the proposed projects on a public forum. You will have to do your own research, we can however provide pointers that you can work upon. So I can talk about InDesign plugin development, you can download the SDK from adobe.io and start reading the documentation of the SDK to understand the InDesign Object Model and get the know how of InDesign plugin development. The documentation is quite elaborate and is the only one on this subject(no Google would not help here sadly). The SDK also ships with sample plugins that demostrate various capabilities of the SDK.

InDesign plugin development is similiar to COM programming so if you have any experience on that it would be helpful.

The book Adobe® InDesign® CS3/CS4 SDK Programming by Kris Coppieters, though the title makes it sound very old, is actually a great start to InDesign plug-in development. We personally worked with a freelance C++ developer for a 2-year project that we were very satisfied with; let me know if you would like his contact info.
