During the past few months, InDesign has had a color shift in the magenta range. When I use 100% magenta in Illustrator, it displays correctly but in InDesign it displays much darker. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled a clean version, not picking up any old preferences, but no luck. It still displays and prints out 100% magenta too dark. It displays correctly in Photoshop as well. Any advice will help. Thanks

Marc, what OS and version of OS are you? How are you getting the Illy color into InDesign? What color model is your InDesign document (Edit > Transparency Blend Mode >)?

Hi Mike,
I am using 10.13.6.
I am just adding a new color swatch at 100% magenta. It is strange that the color is perftct in Illustrator and Photoshop.
Color mode is CMYK.
Thanks agaon for your help.

Make sure the assigned CMYK profiles of the InDesign and Illustrator documents match—Edit>Assign Profiles... . Sync’ing your Color Settings wouldn’t necessarily work because the Color Settings’ Working Spaces affect the application settings, but not existing documents with color profile assignments.
Here’s Coated GRACol vs. Uncoated GRACol. Also make sure you are checking the color mode via the Color Panel and not the Color Picker. The Color panel shows the fill or stroke’s actual color mode, while the Color Picker shows color managed RGB, CMYK, and Lab conversions of the picked color, which isn’t necessarily the actual color.

Thank you. Just synced the colors via Bridge and it worked.
Thank you all for stepping in and helping me to trouble shoot this issue. Much appreciated.

Did you synchronize the color settings for InDesign, Illu and Photoshop via Adobe Bridge?
