Question

InDesign 18.1 not working

Hi there! I've downloaded and installed a couple of versions of InDesign on my laptop, but none of them seem to open.

I'm using an Asus Tuf Gaming laptop with the Windows 11 operating system.

The program is present, but when I click on it to open, nothing happens.

Today, I tried running it in "Safe Mode," and it opened and worked flawlessly. However, when I switch back to the normal mode of my system, it stops working again.

Please help.

More info please. Is Windows 11 fully updated? Do you have Admin privileges? How much RAM? Have you run the CC Cleaner tool Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to solve installation problems (adobe.com)? Have you tried a new user account on the computer? Do you get any error messages?

Hi there

My Windows is fully updated, and I have full admin privileges. I have 16 ram.

I used the CC Cleaner many times. I noticed before that the Adobe Creative Cloud program kind of messes up my settings, and bugs happen when it is on my laptop, so I cleaned it many times using the CC Cleaner since I cannot uninstall regularly.

For the user, I use one and have switched before. And for the error messages, no, I don't get any; just nothing appears.

Hi @Hasan Ghanem,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. If InDesign is working in safe mode but not when launched normally, it can happen because of conflict with plugins. So are you using any plugins? If yes, please try disabling the plugins one by one and check how it goes. Also, is there any specific reason that you're using InDesign 18.1? The current version of InDesign in 19.1.

Thanks
