My computer updated to Windows 11 two weeks ago and working in InDesign has become a nightmare of sluggish performance and a ton of aggrivation.
From what I have read, this is now part of the Adobe creative suite.
I reset the preferences and nothing.
I have the right memory and equipment to run InDesign 64bit, so it is not my system.
Why has Adobe abandoned it's users?

You need to ask program questions in the forum for the program you are using

What version of InDesign are you using? If it is not the latest version (v 19.5) then try updating it. When you do the update I would suggest resetting the preferences one more time. Using preferences from an older version can also lead to poor program performance.

Are you using any third party plug-ins with your InDesign? If so try disabling them and see if performance improves.

I have been desktop publishing since 1986. Ventura Publisher in the Dos Jem environment.
I have been using this application since it came out. I always leave everything stock except my menus. I never use layers. Makes the file too complicated. The only change other than Adobe updates is the update to Windows 11.

More and more people report problems after updating to 19.5 - on Macs as well - can you downgrade to 19.4 and then 19.3 - or even lower?
If that doesn't help - then can you go back to Win10?

More trouble than it's worth.
There is no going back. Only forward.
Hopfully thier silence will end with a fix in a new patch.
I still don't understand thier R&D not testing everything.
Sad. They have us over a barrel and know it.
Rant over.
Work to do.

If everything is running badly; then Windows 11 needs some cleanup.
If only InDesign is running badly, then ...
