Indesign 19.xx does not import layers from illustrator

As per the subject, importing files from illustrator only gives me a single layer in indesign

You can access to the imported file layers in the layers options in the object menu, but it has never been possible to display them in the layers panel.

Hi @cristian29461823gimy ,

are you sure that the layers you want to see are indeed "normal" layers and not "sublayers"?

InDesign is not able to see into sublayers as far as I can see. A sample of screenshots below:

 

Adobe Illustrator file Layers panel open:

InDesign imported *.ai file with all layers visible it can see in the placed file:

Well, elements on sublayers of Illustrator are visible in a placed *.ai file in InDesign.

It's only that the sublayers could not be managed from a placed *.ai file.
