I'm having an issue with the new inDesign CC 2017 that images with transparent backgrounds are not properly transparent when printed. I've tried many different ways to place the image (psd, png, tif) etc. Images in the old format (unconverted) are still fine.
Can anyone help? I'm at my wit's end and running out of toner printing my work to check the transparency (on the screen all looks fine).

If you place an image with a transparent background on a coloured box (all cmyk) in InDesign and print it, does it work for you?

How does your file print to your printer if you generate a PDF and print from Acrobat?

I have followed all the steps in the indesignsecrets link and it has fixed the problem with the transparency but created other issues with the quality of the printout.
