InDesign 2018 is so crappy!

I can not believe the crappiness of InDesign 2018, it has shut down my entire freelancing operation. It refuses to open certain random files that I NEED to open to complete my work. I decided to reinstall 2017 to try and access these files, but because I ATTEMPTED to open them in 2018 it says they've been created with a newer version of the software and won't open them, and when trying to convert them back, gives a failure message. What am I supposed to do? I've restarted, uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted my preferences, still the same story. This is totally outrageous.

Too true! Unable to open files, huge lag. What an utter PoS. and they charge me £20 a month. Roll on Affinity getting their product out. I have no ties to Affinity, but it literally could not be any worse than InDesign in its current form. A day's work wasted on a file created in ID 2018 that is now corrupted and ID has crashed - again! Updated everything in sight. Open ID, it tells me the file is corrupted I save it as something else. ID crashes. Its like 1998 round here.

Seriously. Lag is so bad it's potentially going to get me in trouble at work. Simple tasks like dragging a rectangle lag to the point where I have to input X and Y coordinates to make sure it ends up where it should. Cutting and pasting text takes like ten seconds to process. Tried uninstalling and re-installing, nothing. Was gonna try re-downloading 2017 but I realize now I'd have the same problem you did.

I haven't been this worked up since I had a cow over scrubby zoom!!! But this doesn't seem to have a quick fix, so frustating.
