InDesign 2019 is stuck on the Start screen on MAC

Every time I try to open InDesign it won't open. I don't get an error message just a loading screen and I can't click on anything or do anything.

It opens like this but I can't click on anything and if I try to open any file it doesn't even open.

There's an Open button on the left and Create New button in the middle. So you're saying that nothing happens when you click the buttons?

Try restoring your InDesign preferences as described in this Help file:

    Set preferences in Adobe InDesign

I can't even click on edit

Which version of InDesign and OS?

Have you tried resetting the InDesign preferences ?

Close InDesign. Then hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Cmd + Ctrl + Opt + Shift (Mac), and relaunch InDesign. Respond in the affirmative to the dialog asking if you really want to replace the preferences.
