InDesign 2019 not relinking at same percentage scale and preferences checked

Images are being rescaled when relinking files. I’ve checked my preferences and Make Content-Aware Fit the default frame fitting option is turned off and in File Handling, Preserve Image Dimensions When Relinking is checked on. I've checked the original pdf dimensions against the new ones and they are all the same dimensions. I've checked the individual frame options as well and that is fine. Any suggestions on this?

i have been experiencing the same issue. i was attributing it to saving it to .idml 3-4 times a day to have a co-worker open the files in indesign 2018.  i take you are not having to do that?

No, we are all on the same platform Jonathan.

Try restoring InDesign preferences. That's not affecting most people since the 14.0.2 update in InDesign CC 2019 so it must be something else.

Set preferences in Adobe InDesign

Resetting preferences didn't work. The same thing is happening to my coworker. He's on a PC, I'm on a Mac. We just upgraded from CS5 to CC 2019 so the InDesign files are converted from CS5. No problem in CS5...only once we bring it into the newest version of InDesign.

Either post the download link here in the forum ( everybody can see it ) or send me a private message.

Just hover of my name when visiting the forum, wait a moment until button Message comes up. Press Message, type the subject and fill in some details together with the link. A private message cannot be seen in the forum.

Best do a zip-file with InDesign files from CS5 and CC 2019.

Also with exported PDFs from both documents so that I can see what happens when an image shifts or has a different scale value.

Thanks,
Uwe

Laubender I went to gather the files to post for testing and the issue no longer occurred and then I remembered I updated all my Adobe apps this morning as their was a notification to do so...I was up-to-date before todays release. Anyway, the problem did not occur in the problematic files. I'll be working in some files that are CS5 next week and converting them to CC19 and will watch to see if the scaling error occurs again. We are a map company so scale is extremely important. I'll update this post next week.
