Hi,

Indesign 2020 15.1.1 no postscript font support on OSX anymore?

I use CC on OSX 10.13.6 HighSierra.

Indesign ignore it! Can't load Postscript fonts ... no error! No font error! Very bad Adobe!!!

Greets,

Adobe announced end of support for PostScript Type 1 fonts.

I work for
FontLab, we make the eponymous FontLab pro font editor. We have also created TransType 4, an easy-to-use converter for macOS and Windows. A few days ago I made a video that shows you how you can use TransType to convert your obsolete (but still valuable) Mac or Windows PostScript Type 1 fonts into cross-platform OpenType PS (.otf) fonts that will work in all Adobe (and other) apps: https://youtu.be/j06_QuBwy7Y

TransType is a good solution if your font’s EULA or your local law allows you to convert the font to a more modern format, and of course if you have Type 1 fonts for which OpenType versions are not available.

Doesn't using a tool like this run afoul of most typeface UELAs?

Hallo LordRaven,

Uwe Laubender

Try a different PostScript font, or place it in InDesign's application Fonts folder.

There must be some other problem with the font, or with your setup. I'm having no problems displaying a PostScript (Type 1) font in InDesign 2020 15.1.1 and macOS 10.15.6 (Catalina). See below:
