Hi, I am not new to InDesign, but new to CC.

I just got a BRAND NEW COMPUTER at work and everything works except InDesign.. The one program i need.. It can take 20-30 minutes to open one file that's only 2MB.. I have uninstalled and re installed multiple times.. And even gone back to v16 instead of 16.1 and it still happens..

I saw some answers saying to go to my Local and Roaming Folders and rename to .old which i did and launched the programs and it still happens..

PLEASE HELP!

My System:
Windows 10 Pro 64Bit

i7 Processor

64GB Ram

SSD HD

16GB Video Card

If you need anymore info, please let me know and i'll provide it, but i need this to work ASAP! Please help!!

Where are these files stored? Any third party antivirus?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about all the trouble. In addition to the questions asked by Derek, would you mind sharing a few more details like:

  • Is the issue related to a specific document? If yes, could you please share the document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link.
  • Where are the files saved (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System /External HDD)?

You may also try the suggestions shared on this page (https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/resolve-slow-performance-and-unexpected-behavior-of-indesign/td-p/11487287?page=1) and let us know how it goes.

Feel free to let us know if you still need assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Regards,

Srishti

That isn't right - have you plenty of spare disk capacity?

Do you have a third-party application, such as a font manager, that might be causing a conflict?

Have you tried resetting the InDesign preferences?

Consider running Adobe Cleaner.
