Hey gang,

The Apply Color button near the bottom of the Tool Panel and to the left of the Apply Gradient button now has a small triangle in the corner of the button, implying that it leads to something more, but you cannot click on it.

What is it? What does it do? What is its name?

I don't have the triangle here and as you know, I have the latest version and even not released versions.

I don't see it either in version 17, but it is there in 16. I suspect it was an error.

Hi Mike, I get this in version 16 when my Tool panel is set to a single column:

But there is a bit of a delay—I have to hold down the mouse button or press the Control key in order to get the extra options.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your comments.

I ALWAYS have my Tool panel set to 2 columns.

It never occurs to me to collapse it to 1 column (which produces the triangle).

So I just now collapsed to 1 column, and then opened back to 2 columns, and guess what?

... The triangle went away!

So it was a "mistake". Much ado about nothing!

Hi Mike,

can you show a screenshot of the whole Tools panel?

Like Willi I cannot see that little triangle when the Tools panel is showing the tools in two columns like that:

(From my German InDesign 2022 on Windows 10)

When I switch to one column for all tools the little triangle is showing the options like expected:
