Sorry to hear about the trouble. There are two known issues for crashes on launch that were reported. Crash on launch on Windows on InDesign v17 which stands resolved. The other was on v18.5 on macOS Ventura, in which the issue was resolved after updating the macOS to the latest version of macOS Ventura. So if you have macOS, please test InDesign 18.5 on the latest build of macOS Ventura and let us know how it goes.

Bonjour, je remonte ce sujet, car je cherche des solutions... j'ai suivi le procédé, de kglad pour reinitialiser creatrive cloud .
Mais creative cloud ne montre toujours pas indesign dans les applications "installées".
J'ai le systeme Mojave, et je travaille sur indesign 2021 depuis plus d'une année... jusqu'au bug il y a quelques jours.
Impossible donc d'installer de nouveau indesign 2021 (16,4). Non visible sur l'app creative cloud.
J'ai donc utilisé "Time Machine" pour recuperer le dossier indesign datant d'un mois.
Je l'ai lancé en effacant les preferences en utilisant le raccorcis (Cmd+Opt/Ctrl+Maj).
Pour le moment indesign se lance et je peux ouvrir des fichiers. Mais Time Machine n'a récupéré que le dossier de l'application. Je ne sais pas s'il manque des elements dans les preferences ou autres... puisqu'il ne s'agit pas d'une installation, mais simplement de la recopie depuis une sauvegarde...
J'aurais voulu le reinstalléer depuis creative cloud, mais indesign n'apparait pas dans les applications "installées"...
Peut-être avez vous une solution, et je pose les même questions sur d'autres posts pour tenter d'avoir l'aide de la communauté...

J'ai obtenu le lien pour telecharger la version indesign 2021, je reste donc sur Mojave, et tout fonctionne parfaitement pour le moment...

I followed the advice from several users and installed version 17.4.
I'm now able to launch InDesgn again.

For some of our users is not a solution as we have thord party software that is dedicated to specific indesign version.
This should work for every version.
Adobe Support should have urgent attention to this.

Just want to add my voice to this fiasco. InDesign Version 17.1 on Mac OS 10.15.7 worked flawlessly until Friday 22 Spetember 2023 (Australian time). Have uninstalled and reinstalled CC three times, including with use of AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool, uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign (different versions) more than 10 times, restarted countless times, always the same problem.
With my current workload, I'm so desperate that I'm considering going out and spending money I can ill-afford on a new computer that is otherwise working perfectly. This is ridiculous situation.

17.4 works for now. But we don't know for how long and no one from Adobe seems to be interested in solving the general problem with other 2022 versions. I'm at the moment in a hotline chat, but the guy does not believe me!

If he doesn't want to get fired he better believes you. This issue is very real and will cost Adobe.

I think it has to do with the licensing service from Adobe. I can confirm that for those users that are working with versio 17.4 does work. For other versions does not.

Whatever is causing the problem, Adobe should definitely take care of it immediately. We all have important jobs to do and we depend on the programs to work. How can we apply pressure at Adobe? It can't be that so many postings about this problem are not believed!

Update: Problem solved on my Apple Macbook
Rename the folder "extensions" in "extensions_1" in the following location:
Macintosh HD/Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/UXP
(Take care you're in the right library – not the User-Library.)

17.4.2 crashes again today. No other workaraound described here fixes the issue for me.

There seems to be a problem with the InDesign adobe server. Teams Accounts seem to run, Standard accounts can no longer launch InDesign. A solution (Windows only?) is to start without internet connection (after that it can be activated again). Hello,
I can't launch InD 17.4.2 on MacBook Air (Apple silicon M1) but the same version still runs on my iMac with Intel Core.
After downgrading InD to version 17.4 again I can lunch it.
To downgrade > make BackUp 😉 and: Launch CreativeCloud App > Applications > Click '…' button next to 'Open' > Other version (or smth. like if you are using localised version of app) > Choose version 17.4 (it will remove your actually installed version with older one).

just tried again. And now InDesign 17.4.2 won't launch again! I am shocked.
It was running a few minutes ago and I had worked for a short time.
I will now try the offline solution and later install a 7-day trial version with a new user today.

unfortunately, the problem is still not solved. InDesign 17.4.2 does not launch.
Starting in offline mode did not work either.
Also, attempts with 2 new accounts (Single and Teams) were unsuccessful.

Hallo - hatte auf anraten von Adobe Indesign 17.4.2 komplett deinstalliert inkl. Preferenzes - neu installiert und siehe da, es hat ein mal geöffnet. Jetzt nicht mehr. Ansonsten alles aktuell (Mac). Der Workarround mit 17.4 geht (aktuell) und der lustige Mensch von Adobe meinte, ich wäre der erste, der so ein Problem hat ... Hah!
Hello - had completely uninstalled Indesign 17.4.2 incl. Preferenzes on advice from Adobe - reinstalled and it opened once. Now no more. Otherwise everything is up to date (Mac). The workaround with 17.4 is fine (currently) and the funny person from Adobe said I would be the first to have such a problem ... Hah!

We have 8 Macs running (M2) and have the same problem with InDesign 17.4.2.
I hope Adobe will fix it soon! We have to work urgently!

Got th e same probleme a few hours ago. Thanks to some advices, I've installed the 17.4 version. Now it works. But for how long ??!! Please Adobe, help Indesign users. It's such a big issue !!

I was about an hour on the support-hotline, listening the heavy beathing women, searching at least some answer before she took me to the second level support, who told me, they now know about the problem and will roll out an update within the next 24 to 48 hours. That blowed my mind!
