Indesign 2022 Object States - Add Empty State missing

In 2022 update of Indesign the 'Add Empty State' button is missing or removed.

I use this a lot, why has it dissappeared?

Adding a new state with an empty box can be done as a workaround I know, but why remove such a simple useful button that did it for us?

"I meant the option in the pane menu as shown here."

If your screenshot is from a previous version still installed, you may find a startup script that adds this functionality.

Startup scripts can be found in the Scripts folder of the InDesign Application folder or a subfolder in your personal Scripts folder in your user's preferences of that particular InDesign version.

Uwe, see my response above. I'm almost positive it was from OSA.

There has never been such a command natively. Perhaps you were using a third party script or extension.

Object States Assistance does add this command and it's free: https://www.automatication.com/product/osa/

Hi Russ,

as far as I know there never was a button to add an empty state to an MSO.

You may have used a script that added the functionality.

Here a screenshot from my German InDesign CS6 version 8 where you cannot see a button to add an empty state:
