Indesign 2022 shortcuts

Hi,

I switched to a Macbook Pro, OS 12.2  Monterey, and I have a couple of issues with the Indesign 2022:

1. cmd + shift + drag from corner - for scaling images only changes the container, and not the image itself.

2. selecting object and draging while holding the option key just moves the object. How do I duplicate it?

Bounus question - Many of the shortcuts have changed. Is it smarter to adjust to the new shortcuts or customize them to what I'm used to? (H for hand tool instead of Spacebar; Z for zoom instead of cmnd + Spacebar and probably more that I'm just not aware of yet)

Thanks, Tami

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your experience. This generally happens when the third-party application is interfering with InDesign. In that case, you may try running the app in Safe Mode (Mac) and launch InDesign only. If shortcut works fine in Safe Mode, then open other apps one by one, which you usually open, and see which app is conflicting with InDesign.

Also, it can happen due to corrupt preferences. In that case, you may try resetting them (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/indesign-preferences-support-file-locations.html) and see if that helps resolve the issue.
Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings, and InDesign will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

For your bonus question - I would suggest you change the shortcuts. As you are already use to them. Getting adjusted to them will only slow down your workflow. However, you may give it go-to new shortcuts and see if it is slowing down your workflow or not.

Kindly update the discussion if you still need any further assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks & Regards,

Thank you Anshul, It's all working now and it also changed some of the "new" shortcuts back to what I was used to.
