Hi Team

Indesign has updated itself over the weekend to 19.0. I am running Windows 10 Enterprise Version 22H2.

Since then the  Control Z  keyboard short cut will not work.

When I go to Edit > Undo from the top menu it is grayed out.

Also the when resizing a text box the content will not flow to the new size or shape of the box until I click inside the text box.

Is there an update or work around for these issues / bugs

It was all working fine on friday before the update.

Thanks

Rod

Hi @Rod31831076hort,

Thank you for getting in touch. I've attempted to replicate the problem on my Windows computer, but I haven't encountered the same issue. Could you please confirm whether this problem occurs with all files or just with new ones? You might want to try making some changes to the document and then use Ctrl + Z to undo those changes. Alternatively, you could try doing the same in a new file to see if the issue persists.

If the problem still persists, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign out of InDesign and Creative Cloud Desktop.
  2. Restart your machine.
  3. Sign back into the Creative Cloud Desktop app.
  4. Launch InDesign again.

Please let us know if these steps resolve the issue. We're committed to investigating further and providing you with the best assistance.

Thanks,

Harshika

Try resetting your preferences:

Windows: Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
macOS: While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

--------

If a document is not behaving well then try

File>Export

Choose IDML

Open the IDML in InDesign
Save the file as a new InDesign file with a new name
See if the issue persists.

-----------------------------

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Open a document and make an obvious change like drawing a new frame. Is the menu still grayed out?

Does it happen with all documents or just pre-existing ones?

Does Cntl-Z work in other programs?
