I have brand-new Mac mini M4 and InDesign 2025
Everything is brand new. New install now old stuff around.
Everything runs blazing fast, except for InDesign.
Pretty much every Interaction has a 1-second lag.
Selecting a Text Field - 1sec lag
Selecting image - 1sec lag
Switching from another Window to InDesign - 1sec lag
What to do?
Maybe the M4 can run Crysis… but can it run InDesign? Doesn't look like it.

That is correct. Without flooding adobe they do nothing. So Spam it is.

Its worth exploring:
I read someone's comment yesterday that suggested that the slowdown condition of InDesign 2025 is related to using cloud-based storage and the fact that InDesign is checking continuously on updating an adobefnt file. The suggestion to test was to turn off or not use the cloud-based file storage and see if it affects the speed/response of InDesign and your document.

What Cloud based storage do you mean Mike? I'm not using Adobe font sync nor any other online service like Dropbox. Another suggestion was making sure there is no Document fonts folders present in the directory of the indd document like when packaged, sadly that did not work for me...

Greetings Frans! My speculative question was for the OP. It helps to narrow things down in order to focus.

I was having this EXACT issue, the new update seems to have fixed it, good luck

I use OneDrive. But I think the issue seems to be an old InDesign Template file *.indt
Don't have the issue on newly created files in indesign. I saved the indt file as a adobe 2025 template but that doesn't seem to change anything.
