Just started using ID 2025 this morning and I'm noticing a LOT of lag time with pretty much any activity. I'm running a Mac Studio with an M2 Ultra, so it's not my computer. I've tried some simple troubleshooting but it is simply not responding like ID 2024. Help!
Hi @Bigwig:
I'd start by rebuilding preferences:

If that doesn't work, I would just go back to the version you were working on before the update. It's usually a good idea not to update to a .0 release. Let someone else go through this pain and report the issues and update again after it the .1 release is out.
Also, you may not know this, but you can have more than one version installed on your computer. I kee
...A couple of things that have helped -
1. Turn off Preflight: Window/Output/Preflight. Unfortunately, they don't give us the option for it to be off by default so you'll have to remember to turn it off every document you open.
2. Turn off Font Previews: On a blank screen go to Preferences/Type/Type Options/ uncheck the box for "Enable in-menu Font Previews" then Restart InDesign to "make it so!"
So far, these have helped. I'm on Macbook M1 Pro with Sequoia 15.0

This situation is ridiculous. We've been dealing with the InDesign 2025 issue for nearly a year without any fix; only a string of suggestions about turning off various extensions and running in Safe Mode that were not necessary with previous versions. And it's been over a year since the issue with Illustrator 2025 preventing computers from to sleep popped up with no fix. This is unacceptable. I cannot believe that they are unable to repeat these issues on their end, as they often state. Perhaps Adobe needs to return their focus to making software for actual designers and stop trying to compete with Canva, pushing services for non-designers (I'm talking about you, Adobe Express) to take business away from those of us that made them successful in the first place.

I have been using InDesign when it was PageMaker, and I have NEVER experienced this much lag and it is directly associated with text specifically, be it on the taskbar, the paragraph or character styles, there is a 15 to 30 second lag before a menu appears to make selected. Could this issue be associated with the number of fonts or specific fonts?

In my experience, it can totally be. Shut off all Adobe fonts. Are you using a font manager? If so, shut off all the fonts. With just system fonts open, is it still laggy for you? Turn off auto-activation of fonts from Adobe and any other font manager.
