Indesign '22 does not export the semi-court stroke for the fonts "Robot Slab" and "Montserrat"

Hi, since December, Indesign '22 does not export the semi-court stroke for the fonts "Robot Slab" and "Montserrat" (Adobe Font!). Neither in the review nor in the print export. I have already installed the typo again - same problem. Is this a bug or what else can I do? (I tried several PDF Exports – always the same) It is currently quite suboptimal, as I have to export 50 folders next week and put them into production, and I can't manually search every text field for non-exported half-quad strokes. In Indesign it is displayed normally (so I would have to compare the PDF with ID).

Hi pmfh,

well, yes, this is a bug.

What's your operating system?

One way to resolve the issue could be to store the font files in the Fonts folder of InDesign's Application folder.

In the case of activated Adobe Fonts this cannot happen, because the font files are not accessible on your machine.

As far as I can see the developers are working on a fix, that hopeful

..Now we have found out that it is not only the semi-colons that are affected but also, for example, the colons, but these are displayed with a rectangle as a "placeholder".

But as of today I currently can only suggest that you join InDesign Prerelease to produce your PDFs with the Prerelease version 17.1.0 of InDesign. Do not try this with the Prerelease 17.7.0 which is shown as the latest prerelease version if you are into InDesign Prerelease.

Below a link to one of my posts where I listed threads that are discussing similar issues.

Hm. I must admit that a glyph not exported and not showing a non-def-glyph glyph is totally new to me.

Thanks for all those links!! And I'm sorry.. don't know why i didn't found those

I'm on macOS Big Sur 11.6.2 – i'll Update in four weeks.

I will try the solutions, otherwise I will have to export the documents to paths. Since I had already uninstalled/reinstalled ID and uninstalled and reinstalled the fonts 😃

The interesting thing is that they are different special characters per file. Sometimes it's the colon and sometimes the semi-colon. I voted for uservoice. Thanks, will follow the summary thread from you.

Well, I hope this will work for you. Do that while you are exporting to PDF by using transparency reduction and not in the InDesign document itself. Add a custom transparency reduction preset like below ( screenshots from my German InDesign 2022 ) :

Transparenzreduzierungsvorgaben-1.PNG

Use that preset when you export to PDF/X-1a.

To make that work you need a transparent element on every page.

Usually I do a rectangle filled with color [Paper] and set to 0% opacity that covers the whole page on a parent page ( Musterseite ) :
