Question

Indesign and Illustrator windows are too big on my Apple Studio Display

I use a 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Max, running on MacOS Sonoma 14.2.1. Most of the time, I connect it to my Apple Studio Display. My InDesign and Illustrator are also updated to the 2024 versions. When I open the apps on my laptop (without connecting it to my Studio Display), the screens/windows appear normal. In the same way, when I plug it into my Studio Display, the window sizes remain normal.

Here's the issue: When I quit the apps (with the MacBook still connected to the Studio Display) and reopen them, the screen/window sizes of InDesign and Illustrator become larger, and it's annoying because they are no longer proportion or actual size. To address this, I have to quit the apps, disconnect my MacBook from the Studio Display, open my laptop, and launch the apps there. After doing this and connecting it again to my Studio Display, and the screen/windows are fine again

So can someone help me if there's a way to fix this without unplugging my MacBook to my Studio Display?

Thanks in advance!

Most likely not related to your problem, but update to macOS 14.3 - it fixes various InDesign issues that many users experienced.

I just googled your issue and there seems to be lots of people with the same problem on the Apple forums with different solutions that are working for people.

I'm not really sure what's going on here, I don't have a screen like this.

But could be related to waking/sleeping modes. I don't really know. Just trying to help.
