so after updating to inDesign 2018 on my laptop, it hangs after start up and ends up giving me the spinning wheel until I force quit out, which results in a crash report. this was happening about two weeks ago so I got into a chat with Adobe Tech Support & they removed all my fonts and the problem was resolved. however the problem has since started to occur again, and barely any of the fonts have been reinstalled. further, I run the same fonts on my iMac at home & my iMac at work with inDesign 2018 starting up fine. so it can't be a corrupt file, as they're operating fine on other computers. further, this laptop is newer than either iMac, so it's not outdated.
I work a lot on the go & this is extremely frustrating. switching between using 2018 at work & 2017 on my laptop is the only option I have right now, which isn't very efficient. I also can't be uninstalling my fonts all the time to get inDesign to work -- I'm a graphic designer, fonts are essential.

additionally, I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing caches, removing preferences.. I've done every single thing I can find online and NOTHING is helping.

Hi Allison,
Sorry to hear you've been having trouble with the latest version of InDesign. Which operating system are you using on your laptop? Have you tried opening InDesign on a new user account on your computer? Does it crash only on your main user account or on both?
Let us know so we can help you further.
Best,
Wren
