InDesign CC 2019 (v14.0.3) working slow on macOS Catalina

After updating to macOS catalina, indesign CC 2019 has become absolutely slow.
After every mouse click or action the "Beachball" is displayed. Working is impossible!
The whole thing happens only if * .indd files opens and saves. There are no performance issues with * .idml files.
Reinstallation of the complete creative cloud
has brought no improvement. Please Adobe, you must fix this!

many greetings

My brother came up with a solution. Prefs >> Security and Privacy >> Full Disk Access >> tick Java, Adobe

I have full speed InDesign back

At the moment no version is officially compatible with 10.15.
If you are sure to use it, return it to 10.14 or lower.

Hello Ashuosh,

1. the files i used are on the local hdd but files from the network has the same problem

2. it's happening with all .indd files i do in the last 3 months

3. yes, i reset all the preferences, that did not bring any improvement

greetings,

Axel

@ assause,

return to macOS 10.14 is no option. By the way: the creative cloud costs 50 euros every month,

then you can expect it to work properly! I know that sounds a little bit hard, but i have to do my job right too.

The same thing happened with macOS 10.14 released last year, and Creative Cloud supported it in the 2019 version. I'm assuming the same situation this year.

i hope so 🙂 one more question: if i do an design/layout in indesign and save it as .indd file, the filesize is (for example) 5MB, if i save the same design/layout as .idml file, the filesize is about 70% smaller. what makes the .indd so big? why does that have to be? that makes no sense, and the performance of the files are better too

Hello,

Thank you for letting us know about your experience. In order to assist you further, would you mind sharing some more details like:

1. Location of files saved (network or local).

2. Is this happening with just 1 file or all of the .indd files?

3. Before reinstalling the app, did you try resetting the preferences?

These details will help us to understand the situation better and work upon it.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Ashutosh

I have tried many things that should work here in the community as a solution (deactivate some font preview settings etc.).

But it did not bring any improvement. So i installed an earlyer version of Indesign CC 2019 -> 14.0.2 (before i use 14.0.3).

And now i have no trouble. Everythings works fine. It's not the best way, but so you can work for now.
