Indesign CC Crashes on Large Merged PDF export

Hey Guys - just solved an issue I've been having for a while on indesign CC.

I have a merge document I create with images and text - when exporting it ends up being about a 4000 page document.  It's about 30 mins of high intensity CPU usage.

I've noticed anomolous behaviour when exporting my final PDF.  Sometimes it just chunks away and gets it done, and sometimes it stops dead for no apparent reason.

I'm using a 2018 15" MacBook Pro and if I have too many programs open or too much power being used on the laptop, it will crash if I give it too much work - I think its something to do with the Mac trying to limit the power consumption when it's running hard...

It's one of those really strange errors that I've managed to work out and solve just by closing everything else and letting it go on its own.  Also - oddly enough - the same behaviour occurs if the computer gets too hot.  If so the Mac limits the CPU and the PDF creation process crashes...  Solution - turn on the AC!

Anyway - thought to pass the info along.  It's been a while since I've had a computer crash due to too much CPU, but in this case I think its specific to the Mac Book Pro and the heat generated from too much CPU, and the OS putting the breaks on the CPU.

Hi Sanyam,

Thanks for reaching out. I am currently using the latest version - haven’t checked when I updated though? Can you let me know when that was released and if it was after I last encountered the problem, I’ll try to recreate the issue.
