Updated Indesign last week, and it's really really slow.
Lots of lagging - very sluggish in moving things around, menus slow to respond etc. Very frustrating.
Colleague has the same issue both at work and on personal Mac.
Using Mac fully spec'd up to meet requirements.
Help!

Tryed to use cc2014 by downloading from the CC but it was the same crap. I'll try again unistalling CC2015 and the entire CreativeCloud and then installing again the Creative Cloud and then the 2014 - assuming is possible.

But i will find the 2014 in the CC app after unistalling ID CC2015 and the CCapp ? I never purchased the 2014, jumped directly from CS3 to CC2015

Sorry, I was assuming you were coming up from 2014 (which has been good for
ID, PS, IL, DW for us).

You'll see the drop-downs for installing CC, CS6, CC (2014). Sorry for the
multiple emails. My gmail chops aren't great.

I have the same problem, very slow, a lag with every click. I have tried trashing preferences, starting in safe mode, etc. etc., nothing helps.
I finally re-installed InDesign 2014 and I'm using that until there is a fix. Using 2015 15" Macbook Pro, Yosemite

This is the WORST upgrade ever from Adobe. Hopefully they'll sort it out soon. For now, I've been forced to go back to InDesign CC 2014 in order to get any work done.

I am also having this problem - serious lag with all functions in Indesign CC 2015. It seemed to have happened after a recent update. I'm using an iMac - fully equipped. I have tried trashing my preferences and uninstall/reinstall. Looking into converting back to InDesign CC 2014 now. It's VERY frustrating to use as is, not to mention time consuming.

Jane, hopefully you read through all the messages here, especially the last few. People have found solutions without having to go back to the 2014 version.

I just forced quit CC library in my Activity Monitor (AM) and it seems to have done the trick.
This was listed a temporary fix to a problem with the library panel not be able to connect to the cloud. It's working with my lagging issue right now. hopefully it will stick.
I hope it works for some of you. Good luck to everyone.

See below, from <Re: Updating OS X to 10.10.5 slows down Indesign CC (2015)>, worked for me too! Open mac utility 'Activity Monitor' and...

Seems to have worked for me... all I did was end the CCLibrary process. The library then loaded correctly, and is working like a charm.

I have been struggling with this issue for a number of weeks. The problem we had with the CCLibraries process is that our firewall and proxy server are not currently allowing connectivity to all of Adobe's servers, therefore quitting the CCLibraries process and re-starting Indesign never worked, there was always a problem with CCLibraries.
The solution (temporary until Adobe update Indesign) is to permanently disable CCLibraries. How do you do this? Simple -
1. Quit Indesign
2. Find [Hard Disk] > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Creative Cloud and copy the folder called CCLibrary to your desktop (or somewhere that you want to store it)
3. Delete CCLibrary folder from [Hard Disk] > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Creative Cloud.
4. Re-open Indesign
5. I also followed the above steps to uncheck "Save to CC Library" in the Swatches, Character Styles and Para Styles panels. Then quit and re-opened Indesign again to ensure these prefs stick.
NO MORE LAG! No more CC Libraries either but I can deal with that until Adobe fix.

I went through this entire thread and tried EVERYTHING ... and this solution (deleting CCLibrary Folder) seems to have finally done the trick. Hopefully permanently. Thank you!

UPDATE - CCLibrary folder seems to regenerate so I had to delete it again this morning. Gah!! I'm not sure how to stop this from happening, it might not even be possible.
Still, at least now there seems to be a way to get the apps to work correctly. If Indesign slows down again, quit all Adobe apps incl. CC Desktop, check the folder, delete the CCLibrary folder again.

This appears to have worked for me, now I'm just waiting a few days to see what happens. It's taking me three times longer to do my work and we pay WAY too much for CC for this to happen on one of their most popular products.
This happened to me immediately after I updated my iMac to 10.10.5 a few days ago. Ug.

No love on that last update. InDesign is still slow. It's like working on a machine that is 10 years old. I've tried several of the suggested fixes without luck. I sure hope Adobe figures this out sooner rather than later.

‌For the first time in a few months I had to work on a book file: 16 chapters in the bookfile, many cross refs. I resaved them all and updated the book file also. In CC 2014 I could work fine, in CC 2015 it is simply unusable! A simple text edit (selecting a single word and typing over it) slowed things to a crawl! The Mac spinning ball for a few seconds.
In short: not possible to edit text as it took forever on every single character I typed.
unusable slow!
ah... I long for those CS6 days...

same here - I'm on a macbook pro OS-X Yosemite 2.5 GHz. I re-installed indesign without success - layout jobs take twice as long. This morning I downloaded the Indesign upgrade and unfortunately the problem has not been solved. How do we approach ADOBE about this issue (this has been going on for about 2 weeks now)???
