InDesign: Change margins when document is ready for print (long and many images)

Hi, I know that I should have talked to the printer before, but I am a newbe and I had no idea who was going to print it 😞

Problem: I have prepared a book, ready for print, but the inner margins are 15 mm, while I have noticed that 20 mm would be best. Any solution?

The book is 110 pages long and there are 220 images.

I know that I have been stupid 😞

Another option is to slightly reduce the size of the page contents (about 97% for an A4 page). Make sure nothing is locked and all layers are not locked, select all and transform with the reference point anchor set to left center (for all left side pages), use transform again for the next pages. Repeat with the reference point anchor set to the right center for all right side pages.

Or, if you want to keep the original margins, use the place multipage PDF script to place the original into a new file, then transform.

If you have enough space to reduce the outer margin with the same value, go to you master, click adjust layout and change inner and outer value, so the text block will move outward.

Thank you all very, very much! You are geniuses; you have been really helpful.

I already had tried the master page changes before writing, but it was all a fuss.

Then I accepted Eugene's advice, but when I was half way through I read Luke's tip. Now I am working with this on a clone file and it seems to be working.

So, thank you really very much!!!

I do agree with Eugene.

Change your inner margins to 20mm.

Go page by page - there's only 110 pages.

Check everything.

It won't take long.
