InDesign | Color Settings | Best Graphic Design Preference

For the new 2023 InDesign (version: 18.0)

I have noticed my color settings have changed since the new update.

But, I would like professional advice for what color settings might be better as a graphic designer working in North America. I work for a university and we mainly range many projects from print, digital, web and web accessibility.

I have save an image of the current settings in InDesign attached below.

Are there any other settings you all suggest using?

Hi @NSUmew22 , One thing to keep in mind, the Color Settings are your color preferences for future documents, they don’t usually have an affect on existing documents. The Color Settings Profiles and Policies are saved with the document on creation, and it is those saved settings (not necessarily the current Color Settings) that color manged the document.

What should my colour settings be for Adobe 2023? Since the new macOS Ventura update and the new Adobe 2023 version my colours are all incorrect?

@rob day is very good with this sort of thing.

Your current setting is US WEB - that's a type of printing used in newspapers - are you printing for this?

There's a lot more to this - including correct output colour for printing purposes selected when making a PDF.

And your print provider should be able to supply you with proper .joboptions file to load into the software to export the PDF for their standards and workflow.

Thank you for you feedback!

We print for a lot of different types of media (posters, flyers, brochures, newspaper, magazine, stickers, etc.)
I'll have to ask our main printer for specifications
