I was wondering, now that MacOS 15 has gotten released, are there any known issues with InDesign like we had with the last MacOS Sonoma update? Adobe hasn’t updated the system requirements yet to incllude Sequoia in the list, but they are not the fastest any more, also like we have learned last time.
I know, I’m not going to update to MacOS 15 right away anyways, cause I only have one working Mac nowadays, so I’ll wait for at least 15.1 maybe. Hope it’s not gonna be as stressful as last time.
Cheers guys

I'll state the obvious. Yes, you should wait but if you don't make a full system backup before you upgrade. This holds even if Adobe does announce that everything is fine.

Same situation. Any success? I updated to 15.01 and InDesign was super laggy. I uninstalled thinking a clean install might helps, and now can't install any version. I tried a direct download too that rep provided.

Why does it take Adobe such a long time to make InDesing compitable with Sequoia? We pay a lot of money for their services and just like last MacOS update it takes months to get this properly working.

Sequoia came out in September; InDesign 2025 came out in October. That makes them 3 and 2 months old at this writing. Not enough time to test all system options and work out the bugs. On top of that, there is a Mac add-on called Magnet that is causing a lot of problems. Also, we don't know how much Apple changed the OS before release and how much time they gave Mac developers.

Bonjour,

Just wanted to let you guys know I did update now to the newest version of Sequoia 15.2. with InDesign 20.01.32 installed and everything seems to work just fine. Haven’t noticed any issues so far, no beachball, nothing. Haven’t worked on any project extensively yet but it really seems like everything is smooth and fine.

Thanks sevenK for the update. Keep us updated. I'm nearly ready to pull the trigger but... will my older Konica printers work? That will be something I probably can't find out online. I'll be the one testing this. I wish Apple would allow a simpler way to just push a button and downgrade back if things don't work. At least this is not a problem with Adobe. Just keep the old version. I know you can back up Mac OS but it's a HUGE pain and takes so long and things don't always end up back where they were. I may wait until 15.2.1 or .4 5 6

I find it's much easier to test a new system by installing it first on a separate partition (or external drive). Then you can test things when you have time and then upgrade your main working system once you're confident everything is working.

I used to have two Macs, a stationary MacPro and a MacBook Pro, which was awesome to install updates on the MBP and still have the stationary as primary workstation. But you’re right of course.

It is now a couple of months later after the release of MacOS sequoia and still Adobe has not updated the system requirements page for InDesign to be approved working with Sequoia. Until this page is not updated we don't have a green flag of Adobe so we can't update to the latest MacOS version unfortunately.
Any news or updates?

I have upgraded to Sequoia 15.2. right after the release and let me put it this way … InDesign works. I have some occasional random crashes of InDesign, some on start up and some while working, but nothing serious as long as you keep saving your artwork on regular basis, which I’m subconsciously doing every couple of work steps.
I still have the color glitches, when parts of the art board or the whole art board turns purple, but that occasionally happened before already as well. But I don’t have any beachballs or stalls like others are experiencing. Everything else works smoothly.

Great sevenK but why is the requirement page of Adobe not up-to-date since MacOS Sequioa still not on the list. Adobe is not sure either offcially I guess. To be mentioned release MacOS October 2024 and we live in February 2025! I hope it will work before the next WWDC25.

My brand new Mac Pro M4 came with OS 15.2. After migranting all my work files, I discovered that booth INDD 19 and 20 load, but it's impossible to generate a PDF. (Essentially to my work flow.) I've tried opeing IDML files, but forget about that. I'm surprised that everyone on this list is so sanguine about Adobe blowing off mac users to the tune of $700 a year. Incredible what tech companies can get away with.

The Mac OS is 15.3.1; InDesign is at 20.1.
Update and see if the issue continues.

Dear Dave,
It sounds more like trail and error solutions?! Why does it take Adobe so long to fix the problems? It is still not on the requirements page of Indesign to MacOS Sequioa is save to use.

How do you think both Adobe and Apple fix the problems--through UPDATES.

Hey guys, I’ve been working with InDesign since the release of 15.2. and it works absolutely fine. Now I’m on InDesign 20.1.0.71 and MacOS 15.3.1 and except these random ID start-up crashes, which I really can’t pinpoint to why they’re happening, I haven’t experienced any other glitches. None!
@Bertd Adobe has updated their system requirement pages to include MacOS 15.x a couple of weeks ago already. I wanted to write you, but I was sick for the last weeks and had no nerve to answer, sorry.

SevenK, thanks but I was looking at the Dutch pages which was not updated 😉
I have a back-up of MacOS so I will try to upgrade to Sequioa in the next few days and hope for the best.

Oh that’s interesting, I always check on the English pages and when switching to the German page I had to notice, that they didn’t update the localized version here either. But I’m sure that’s just more like laziness from the side of Adobe, something nowadays should not happen though.

Yesterday I finally made the step to switch to MacOS Sequioa 15.3.1. and indeed it looks like everything is working fine. Accept the problem with InDesign 20.1 still occurs when selecting an object it take several seconds to select so I switched back to 20.0.1 and the problem was solved.

Everything is working with M2 Macbook Air - Mac OS 15.3.1 Sequoia, InDesign 20.2. Speedy and flawless so far. I did my weekly run of work without any problems. Files have 40 to 50 links to other InDesign files and way too many fonts and about 50mb in size. PDF burns working and Konica Printers working. I still feel that the AI generation of images has a bit more to go before it's as good as ChatGPT.

Thanks for your feedback! I wanted to wait until the first updates from Sequoia come out before I update my MBP. I had to make sure that all Adobe programs work without problems. But I also received the confirmation in other forums...

I am having no problems now with 20.2 using a Macbook Air M2 with Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.1
It runs fast and the only difference I've noticed so far is my 40mb file opens in about 11 seconds rather than about 8 seconds with 19.5.2. All good so far. All my shortcuts and workspaces are there and all the panels were where I left them in 19.5.2. Good going Adobe team. Even my older Konica printers are working without having to fix anything. Which was more of a Mac OS worry than adobe. I just updated from Sonoma to Sequoia. Yes, bravery.

After a week extensively working with InDesign 20.2 I again experienced a lag in perfomance and delay if I select for example a textbox and want to move with the arrow-keys. It takes at least 4 tot 5 seconds before it responds. Anyone else having the same issue?

Sorry @Bertd … so far I haven’t experienced any lags at all. Running really smoothly. But my files aren’t really that large I must say.

I'm working with files between the 40 and 100 Mb but it only occurs with using the arrow-keys. Selecting the object has no delay only moving it to another position.
