Indesign 19.0.1 | Windows 10

Potential export to ePub bug

Tried all different way to export file to ePub which included endnotes and always crashed (Indesign Not Responding indefinately). I could Export as long as I didn't include Endnotes (by way of adding every thing to Articles panel, but unchecking the Endnotes text area)

I could suscessfully export with the following solution:

  • Saved my doc as a new Indesign doc (Like myfilename_Footnotes)
  • Converted all the Endnotes to Footnotes (Menu: Type > Convert Footnotes and Endnotes).
  • Don't worry about overtext, beacuse it'll still export
  • Now exported as ePub, and checked (under Text) Footnotes placement either "in Pop-up", or "End of Section"

Yeah, just ran into this problem. I haven't exported a document with endnotes to EPUB before, and endnotes were my number one suspect. Thanks for the advice!
