Indesign document turkish font problem

Hello, I am currently having an issue with Turkish characters in my InDesign document. When I open a new document, Turkish characters appear correctly in the Lato font, but in my current document, Turkish characters are showing as question marks. How can I fix this? Thank you.

Maybe try removing it completely from your computer and then activating it from fonts.adobe.com and see if it begins to work correctly again. OTOH, a quick google search of Lato font problems turned up much to read. Maybe that font has problems? I don't know.
