Hallo liebes Forum,

When you right-click on a file and select properties, is the Read-Only check box selected? I assume you are using a Windows system. It is in File Info on a Mac. I had a similar issue on a server a while back after a strange backup or when data is moved from a storage to another.

Also, can you share a screenshot of your File > Open window. Which oiption do you select at the bottom left corner?

Hello Eric,
thank for the quick response. None of the check boxes is selected, so the problem is caused by something else.

as far as I understand it's a known bug that happens to files on certain secure networks. Adobe should address it in the next release which is now in beta. you can find more info here:

Hello, when saving to the network, the owner was not saved correctly.
That's why you only have read rights. (write-protected)
If you change the rights for all to read and write, everything works again!
But unfortunately it still seems to be a current BUG and the error is not fixed!

I also found out that the first time I open the file it is write-protected, as soon as I close it and open it again everything works without write protection.
