Indesign file doesn't open

Hi there, my name is Pablo; I was working on an indesign file, my laptop crushed and when I restarted and tried to open the file again, an error message appeared (see img attached). The file appears in the folder without the ind logo, not sure what that means anyways...(see img attached). In any case I haven't found any way to open the file and retrieve the info...

Anybody has any idea how to solve this ?

Thank you so much !

Correct answer Eugene Tyson

Can you post the .indd file here? OR send to me in a private message.

Thanks

I got the file - opened fine for me.

I sent the idml file - should open and remove any corruption.

Although - as mentioned below deleting the IDLK would probably do the trick.

But you've probably lost some edits/changes etc.

Please double check all is in order.

Thanks

Hi Pablo,

first delete the InDesign lock file (starting with ~ace...).

As long as this file exists InDesign will not open your file as InDesign believes that this file is already opened by another user (see error message).

Stephan

Edit: misspelling corrected
