Indesign file flagged as modified right after opening

Participant ,

When I open an indesign file it gets flagged as modified right after opening. No matter how many times I save the document, when opening again (immediately after closing), the document is flagged as modified instantly.

It's a rather simple document, having one single page, one style and 7-8 linked images. The linked images aren't altered at all while the indd file in question is closed.

Is there a setting or workaround that prevents this annoying behavior?

Hi NetPixel,

we recently discussed that without a real solution.

Could be enforced by a placed PNG file with transparency.

The developers are looking into the case:

Viewing page with linked image causes file to be marked as dirty (needs saving)

Hi, Laubender

Thank you for your response!

Clearly I've ran into this bug... My indd files contain exclusively transparent png's.

In this case there's nothing to do but wait for an update that has this bugfix.

Hi netPixel,

you could substitute the PNG files with TIFF images or PSD files.

Best,

Disgusting that this stupid bug has not been fixed, yet.  I'm sick of Adobe's not fixing bugs because they are working on new, useless features.

Hope, you voted for fixing it.

If you don't, please log in at InDesign UserVoice and do.

Thanks,
