Indesign files not opening unless I re download from Dropbox

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Please try the suggestions shared by the experts. To enable full disk access, please try the steps shared below:

1. go to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Accessibility -> Unlock in lower left -> Add desired Adobe Softwares -> Make sure they are checked
2. Next, scroll in the left column to "Full Disk Access" -> Add desired Adobe Software -> Make sure they are checked.
3. Lock in the lower left.
4. If open, the software will need to be quit and restarted for changes to take effect.

Make sure that you do not have any smart sync features enabled. All files must be available in local Dropbox folder.

Check your Security & Privacy settings on your Mac's System preference for Full Disk Access. If your Adobe apps are not listed and checked, do so. Monterey and Ventura are more picky about which locations it will allow access to, and sometimes it will deny access to even a connected external drive.
