InDesign freezes while typing

ID freezes while typing, it happens randomly every few minutes or seconds.

All started when I installed indesign 2017. Already tried reinstalling and re-creating preferences...

Anybody knows why it happens or how do i solve it?

Do you have any third party plugins? Font managers?

No. only Mac font book. I tried enabling and disabling the Typekit and it didn't help

Are you working on a file server?

No. Working locally on my computer disk. I asked around and it seems that some of my colleagues report the same thing, I suspect it has something to do with the ME version that supports right-to-left typing.

Hi Lironc,

If the workaround did not work for you. A further investigation is needed at our end to understand the problem and narrow it down.

As I am not able to reproduce this at my end it would be really helpful if you can share  your file and steps to reproduce the issue.

Hi there,

I'm having similar issues (usually when I'm in a rush 🙂

I find that when I go into a text box and either try double clicking to select the paragraph and even when trying to highlight the text I will get the "spinning lollipop" and freezes for around 10 seconds then goes back to normal. Gets frustrating...

Some people complain about this type of lags when Paragraph styles are heavy loaded with GREP styles. Especially if your machine specs are not perfect. This issue is not limited to the latest version, though.
