My Indesign is making hyperlinks have invisible characters I suspect, as when I export to pdf the interactive pdf links add %OD at the end of the filename and it doesn't go to any page

Are you on Sonoma? InDesign v19 is not compatible with that revision. Adobe is working on it but it's taking some time.

I'm on a Mac and it's the latest version I updated yesterday. When clicking on my pdf link it opens my internet security as a Malware URL... Is InDesign infected? My Antivirus says no threat... I am very confused but have uninstalled InDesign to be safe for now

That's a carriage return, encoded for pure ASCII strings like URLs. You might make sure your hyperlink URLs have no extra characters at the end — space, tab, carriage return, linefeed. I don't know any version of ID that adds these characters but some can be literal about including whitespace if it's part of the string.

I tripple checked many times that the URL's in the hyperlink area have no spaces (Mac user). Lots of weird things happening before my eyes since I updated the latest version of InDesign... My security alerted me to it being a Malware URL which is also weird but antivirus says no threat...
