Hi there! TYIA for your assistance.
I am importing text into InDesign from MS Word.
a) my cursor is in my text box, and there are no character styles
b) I place my imported text from MS WORD – enabling "Show import options"
c) Formatting – I'm making sure to "Remove Styles and Formatting from Text and Tables"
d) hit "OK"
All the text, including the text in the tables is ALL coming in with a character style applied, which I don't want.
If I could "select all" that would allow me to remove the character style right away, but I can't do that because this doc is full of tables, and select all doesn't highlight the table text.
Please help! TY!!!!

Try deselecting everything and get back to the black arrow tool.
Check the character style palette and make sure it is on [None] and check the paragraph style palette and make sure it is on [Basic Paragraph].
If the above has been done, then go file, place and see if the issue persists.
