I signed up for the free trial today however when i go to the creative cloud it says its incompatible. I have the macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6.

Do i need to download an older verison?

If so how do i do this?

Thank you.

I think Laura is now asking how to update her Mac OS. Laura, I would ask on the Apple forum: https://discussions.apple.com/welcome

Keep in mind to run InDesign, your computer needs to meet or exceed the minimum requirements:

  1. Adobe software no longer supports High Sierra. You need Catalina or later
  2. Adobe does not make older versions available unless you subscribe. However, it won't help you much. Adobe only makes limited older versions available (one only) amd it is still not compatible with High Sierra.
  3. Can you upgrade from High Sierra to at least Catalina?

Your first post said you had signed up for a free trial. If that's the case, you've not subscribed.

If you've paid for your first month or year, then you've subscribed.
