Indesign is unable to save this file error .....

Hello

Over the last month or so I keep experiencing this error which ends with "but it appears to be damaged".

This occurs when trying to save the file as a new name.  For example if it is already saved as A4 Poster.indd and then I try to Save As - A4 Poster v2.indd I will get this error.

The only way around it I have found is to save the file as an IDML file, close in INDD file, open the IDML file and then save again as an IDML.  Very frustrating.

Has any one else experienced this?

Thank you

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. Could you please confirm the OS & version of Indesign? Where are you saving the files (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)? When did this start happening? Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, plugins, or web extensions installed recently.

Also, you may try the steps suggested in this community post (https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/resolve-slow-performance-and-unexpected-behavior-of-indesign...) and let us know how it goes.

We'll be looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Anshul Saini
