Hello everyone!

I would like some help on my Indesgin app. It keeps crashing once it startsup and the pin wheel of death on mac never stops. I have already restarted and reinstalled my Indesign for a couple of times. My other adobe app works perfectly. It's just Indesign that keeps crashing. I hope someone can help. Thanks!

Tim

I've just upgraded to macOS Sonoma 14.0 and now it's working properly!

Hi @igoraugstroze:

As a heads up, InDesign is not yet supported on Sonoma. See https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/system-requirements.html.

Upgrading to Ventura 13.6 solves this crashing issue. If you experience any new issues while on Sonoma (i.e., white screen, flickering) consider rolling back to 13.6.

I'm having the same problem. It crashes a few times a day! I also reinstalled a few times.

How did you install InDesign? Did you install it from the CC Desktop application or from a backup or former computer, where it was installed?

I removed it totally from the CC app, and reinstalled it, then rebooted the Mac. Still crashing a few times a day. Also reset /removed preferences yesterday.

Hi @Tim30342144d7g5 ,

I'm sorry you're experiencing constant crashes with Adobe InDesign on your Mac, despite restarting and reinstalling the application multiple times. It can be frustrating when one specific app is causing issues while others work fine. In addition to the suggestions shared above, please try the steps shared here and let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

Thanks

Hi Rishabh,

I tried disabling the damaged fonts. It somehow worked. But I'll keep monitoring if it will crash again.

Thanks!

Do you see any error messages? Have you tried clearing the InDesign Recovery folder in your hidden user library?

Please let us know: Please tell us what operating system (exactly) you're running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version you're using.

Often these kind of problems are best handled by restoring InDesign preferences and caches. Here's a description of how to do this:

Hello Steve,

Thanks for the reply!

I'm on Macbook Pro. Apple M1 Max. 64 Gb. macOS Ventura Version 13.3.1. My Indesign is Indesign 2023 v18.3.

I already tried reseting the preferences and clearing the caches before posting here on the community. But the crashes hasn't been resolved unfortunately.

try to run InDesign on a clean user account: create a new account in System Settings > Users & Groups, switch to that account and try to use InDesign. will you have the same issues?
