InDesign keeps crashing

New Here ,
Dec 20, 2017 Dec 20, 2017

Hello!

My InDesign app keeps on crashing.  It happens when I open documents, or if I just try to open the app itself.  I keep having to force quit the app because it keeps on getting stuck in the open sequence.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice already.  What else can I do?

What exact version of InDesign? What operating system? Did it work before? Was there some other change in your system?

The version is InDesign® CC 2018.0 and I am on Mac 10.13.2.

It was working fine up until I started a 44 page report (not large enough to slow things down) and it got very slow, so I did the update to the 2018.0.  Now it keeps on crashing.

I did get it to open once, and it took about 3 minutes to add a page on a document.

There should be an update to InDesign CC 2018 to 13.0.1 which was released a couple weeks ago. Look for it in the CC desktop app. If necessary, choose Check for App Updates. It solves some crashing problems.

You should also try restoring your InDesign preferences:

Trash, Replace, Reset, or Restore the application Preferences
