Question

InDesign keeps freezing and crashing on my brand new M1 Macbook Pro Max

Is everyone having problems using Indesign and Illustrator on the new M1 chips still?

I waited and hoped all issues would be solved - but to be honest I am almost ready to abandon ship if Adobe and Apple dont work together to get this issues resolved. It´s not doable to spend 3 hours troubleshooting every single day not being able to get a descent pdf out of the software.

Who managed to fix these bugs and what did you do???? Adobe support seems to have no clue.

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear about your experience. This is not the experience we want you to have. I would request you to update InDesign to v17.1 today & Illustrator v26.0.3 released recently if not done already. If that didn't help, I would request you to share a few more details like:

  • Your case no. (ADB.xxxx.2342.xxx)
  • The exact version of macOS Monterey
  • Does the crash happen while working on a specific file or startup or after performing a particular action or using a particular tool/effect?
  • Submit the crash report by following the steps suggested here (https://helpx.adobe.com/be_en/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html).
While submitting the crash report, please use the same email address with which you are signed in on this community. This will help us find the crash report and help accordingly.
  • Where are your files & link saved (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?

Please share the details, and I will try to help you out, or I can arrange a callback for you if you prefer that.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini
