Has kerning changed in InDesign? I'm back after a couple of years and can't get my keyboard shortcuts for kerning to work on this Windows laptop like I used to on my old iMac.
Any help would be much appreciated - I love typography.

Pete

Works for me no worries. Perhaps a reset of the preferences would fix this.
Windows:
Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
macOS:
While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.

If a reset of Preferences makes no difference, can you elaborate on which keyboard shortcuts are not working as expected?
Does kerning work as normal on your Windows laptop without keyboard shortcuts?

I know this sounds lame but sitting in front of this Windows keyboard, I can't remember what keys I was hitting - I just did it on auto pilot - I think it might have been command shift < on my Mac.

Yes, I just bumped into where I can change kerning in the text control panel. Very klunky and slow compared to using the keyboard tho.

Kerning keyboard shortcuts (with cursor between characters):
Windows: Alt + left or right arrow key
Mac: Option + left or right arrow key
Did you try resetting the preferences?
